If I could get the Briggs engine on the Toro mower, compared to the new Toro engineered engine, ( it is not a Chinese Briggs clone, but yes made in China) I would pick the Briggs. I talked directly with Briggs & Stratton, they said the parts for their entire Vanguard engine is made by them in the US and sent to Japan to be assembled by Daihatsu because of cheaper labor to lower the cost. Looked at bad reviews real glad I ordered it. I don't mind paying a premium for quality but at more than twice the price, the Honda was not going to happen. I ended up buying a Simplicity with the 305cc Briggs and Stratton Intek Snow engine with the aluminum bore. Looked at bad reviews real glad I ordered it. Got the motor with Oil in side because I order it with motor it was two 100 oz bottle s 30 briggs & Stratton oil got motor on put my exhaust pipes on and buy 4 metric nuts and for lockwashers use my four old motor bolts and my pulley and my electric cutch with my bolt went right together checked oil level showed it had oil in it but it didn't so I

Jan 17, 2011 · The ELS engine seemed to not run as smoothly as other engines I have used. Personally, I don't see how or why the ELS engines are rated for commercial use. I did like the Intek series engines though. Briggs and Stratton should be ashamed of themselves for producing Garbage I know they can do better.
